Easter
Easter comes with a different mood to Christmas. Spiritually, and socially.
A kind friend gave me a gift at church on Easter Sunday and said, “I’d love to give Christmas gifts, but, I can do Easter.” There’s not the pressure that comes with December. Instead time slows down - for long lunches, novels, and rest.
This year my Easter included, amongst other things -
1 - Church on Friday, where I didn’t do a single thing except participate. And delight that I get to go here, with these people.
2 - Long lunch with some new and not-so-new friends from church.
3 - Walks with Billie to the park as the sun was setting.
4 - Reading the paper, cover to cover.
5 - A wedding.
6 - A posy picked from my Dad’s garden.
7 - Resurrection Sunday sunrise in the backyard.
8 - Finishing and returning a novel. The first I’ve finished since February. And I walked to return it! There’s a new ‘book nook’ down at the park near my house. I love it!
9 - A fire, and more importantly marshmallows, with dear friends, who are now neighbours.
It was wonderful.

Love this. You've captured exactly what I love about Easter. And the fires! So good. Jealous of your book nook. Elena Ferrante's novels are excellent!
